'Wind' a concrete poem printed in silver letterpress on narrow sheet of slate blue paper, deckle-edge. Most likely the work of Eileen Callahan, a book artist (and co-owner of Turtle-Island Press with her husband, poet Bob Callahan). Eileen was a friend of Jaime Robles who ran Hipparchia Press, publisher of this piece. The poem is in a grey envelope addressed to David & Tina Meltzer (return address 'Callahan'), sealed with gold stars. David Meltzer dedicated his book, Bark: A Polemic to Eileen Callahan in 1972 (they were friends). Dated with 'Autumn, 1980'.

Hupa (also called Hoopa, Natinixwe, or Natinookwa) plank house on the Northern California Coast. The clading and roofing of the dwelling are made of planks of red-cedar. The supporting roof beams are visible at the front and appear to be rough cedar logs. The entrance is a small hole and part of the house is underground. A porch-like bed of several large stones surround the front of the house, with a rock free path to the door (from a photograph, 2000). Hopa plank houses or xonta were cool in the summer and warm in the winter and were used for ceremonies, cooking and storage, and were sleeping quarters for Hupa women and children.
