Mr. Lanich talks about his involvement with the legislation for the Central Utah Project Completion Act as part of Congressman George Miller’s team, working for Dan [Beard] on the staff of the House Subcommittee on Water and Power. Mr. Lanich also talks about his intersections with the CUP earlier: first with his work out of college with the Environmental Protection Agency, where he first learned about the Central Utah Project and later at the Office of Federal Activities in Washington, D.C., an EPA coordinating office for Environmental Impact Statements. During his tenure with EPA in Washington, Mr. Lanich was also temporarily assigned to the Interior Department during the Water Project Review process, although he was not involved in the review of the CUP at this time.
