Dee Gibbons worked on the Morgan farm when he was 14, so he has first hand memories of the place. Later in his life he came to own the place in 1981. The barn was built by the Morgan's and there was a sawmill right nearby. Historic photos reveal that the lean-to, or manger and silo were built first, before the main bay of the barn on the west side of the manger. Before the main bay of the barn was built, these would have been where the hay was loaded for the cows to eat from inside the manger.
